Annual Festivals & Events

With parades, fairs and festivals scheduled year round, there’s always something exciting for visitors of all ages. Come celebrate the unique arts, cultural, outdoors and sporting events that make Chenango County such a great place to visit and live. These annual events keep people coming back year after year.

Winter Living Festival

Celebrate the magic of Winter with outdoor activities and demonstrations including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, sled dogs and winter camping. Live music, entertainment, fly-tying, crafts for children, and nature related exhibitors.

General Clinton Canoe Regatta

Part of the famed “Triple Crown of Canoe Racing” the Regatta includes a 70-mile endurance race as well as other events on water and in the General Clinton Park.

Fishing Heritage Day

Fishing & Heritage Day includes many popular activities at the State Fish Hatchery, the Otselic Town Park, and other locations within the hamlet. Trout fishing demonstrations, fly casting lessons, kids activities and more.

Sherburne Pageant of Bands

The annual Sherburne Pageant of Bands has been a tradition for 70 years. The highlight is the parade that features 30 marching bands from around NY State and beyond.

Afton Fair

A 130 year tradition. Animal events and displays, grandstand and stage entertainment, as well as vendors, food and Midway by Gillette Shows.

Green Arts & Crafts Festival
Greene
More than 200 quality artisans exhibit their arts & crafts on the streets of Greene. Choose from an assortment of food offered by Greene area restaurants and local non-profit groups.

Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament
Downtown Norwich
Drawing thousands of athletes from across the northeast, the Gus Macker is an annual tournament that features 3-on-3 games for kids through senior adults.

Chenango Blues Fest
Chenango County Fairgrounds, Norwich
The Chenango Blues Festival is a family-friendly event held each August in beautiful central New York. In addition to award-winning blues acts the festival also features arts & crafts vendors, food, beer & wine vendors, children’s activities and camping. The Friday night show is always free to the public.

Rated one of the top arts festivals by Sunshine Artist, this juried exhibition of art and fine crafts in an interactive atmosphere features free arts-related activities for all ages, student art exhibit, competitive poetry slam, music and dance workshops, film and creative food vending.
