Chenango County Festivals

Check the website for times. This is a full weekend of vintage racing and has become the largest vintage event of its kind in the U.S. Again this year no membership of any kind will be required for any of the racing on any of the three days. Friday starts us off with cross-country racing in the morning, followed by the popular grass track racing shortly after lunch. We move into more motocross racing on Saturday with vintage classes and on Sunday with post vintage classes.

Over 400 teams play in a round-robin tournament with different classifications. This tournament has brought basketball enthusiasts in Chenango County and other parts of the country together around a fun-filled family event, sponsored by the Norwich Family YMCA. Registration required.

Presented by Commerce Chenango Tourism, this festival will feature wineries, breweries, distilleries, food trucks, and crafters from Chenango County and beyond. Local fan favorites the Jason Wicks Band (11 am - 2 pm) and the Nate Gross Band (3:30 pm - 6:30 pm) are set to show off their talent. A showcase of local crops, animals, and food.  Entertainment includes midway rides and games, harness racing, demolition derby, truck, and tractor pulls.

Check the website for times. It’s the Big One and the Boys Will Be Back in Town…. With so many great spectating areas and last year’s return of 7 on 4 —the back uphill-downhill section— it’s going to be a great day of pro racing for the entire family. There’s nothing quite like watching the pros battle it out on a 1.5 mile motocross track. All dirt, hills, jumps, whoops, straights, it’s got it all. Let’s get back into the outdoors…

Time: Friday - Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and show starts at 5:30 p.m./ Sat 11:00 – 10:30 p.m. This two-day music festival features nationally known award-winning artists, great food, craft vendors, camping, and free children’s activities. The Friday night show is free. The 2022 lineup includes Headliner-Jimmie Vaughan, Southern Avenue, Nick Moss Band with Dennis Gruenling, Altered Five Blues Band, Annika Chambers, and more. (Note)Thursday evenings in July and August the Chenango Blues Association also presents the 2022 NBT Bank Summer Concert Series which is free to the public. The Arts & Crafts Festival celebrates artisans and their talents. Lining Route 7 on the Main Street sidewalks, the historic village of Afton showcases hand-made arts and crafts, honoring noted painters, photographers, potters, jewelry makers, textile/fiber artists, floral artists, culinary talents, automotive arts, and more. Live demonstrations, displays, art contest, kids’ activities, music, entertainment, food, and a Classic Car Cruise-In.

Time: Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m Nationally ranked, this event features a juried exhibition of art and fine crafts for sale in an interactive atmosphere. Featuring artist demonstrations, dance, music and art activities, student art exhibit, and creative food vending. Entertainment on three stages.

The world’s longest single-day flat-water marathon canoe race. Enjoy three days of canoe racing, carnival rides, Taste of the Regatta, a wrestling tournament, live music, and fireworks. Youth races and The Benson Realty Generation Gap Race is Friday evening. Saturday features the 15-mile sprint race 5K, the Hall of Fame induction, hot air balloon tethered rides, and the Jericho Arts Canoe Chair Auction. Racing is all day Sunday with the 70-mile endurance race, following the Susquehanna from Cooperstown to Bainbridge.

Saturday: Muscle/Street Rods ~ Sunday: Antique/Classic Cars Hundreds of show cars, motorcycles, tractors, antique engines & military vehicles are on display. Flea market features antiques, collectibles, car parts, food, entertainment, and more.
